West Coast Tavern

Nestled on the corner of University and 29th, in the heart of North Park, is West Coast Tavern.

Boasting playful dishes and seasonal ingredients created by Honest Abe Botello.

Have you noticed the improvements in North Park?

Local business owners and the community have been working towards making North Park a more visually appealing and safer place to enjoy.

We are so thankful for this because the local eateries are not to be missed out on.

North Park is conveniently located only minutes to Downtown San Diego, Hillcrest, Point Loma and Mission Valley.

So make sure your Uber App is updated because West Coast Tavern has a brunch that will make your weekend much more eventful.

The menu is moderately priced and offering plenty of options for meat eaters alike.

We stopped by on a Friday afternoon for lunch so we were offered the brunch menu.

I ordered a green apple and walnut salad and added ahi ($16.00) it was delicious and I didn’t leave one thing on my plate.

The ahi was grilled rare to perfection and the vinaigrette dressing was a great compliment.

The greens were cold and crunchy and the bacon was thick and chewy. Just how I like it.

My cute date ordered their chicken sandwich that consisted of grilled chicken breast, pepper jack cheese, avocado, and chipotle aioli on sourdough.

Need I say more?

Ok I will … the chicken was moist and the bread was clearly fresh baked.

I might have stolen a couple of bites and enjoyed every moment. Don’t tell.

The libations have really fun names that made us chuckle.

And since it was Friday, we decided to treat ourselves to The Walk of Shame and I Thought She Was a 10.

Walk of Shame ($6.00) had Creme de Mure liquor, champagne and topped with lemon zest.

I Thought She Was a 10 had cucumber bitters, elderflower, champagne all served on ice.

It was so refreshing and tasty! I will definitely order it again.

***I would not recommend this restaurant to vegans or anyone with food allergies to eggs or gluten.

Chef Abe Botello is the San Diego native responsible for the deliciousness within West Coast Tavern.

Honest Abe will be seen all over the menu, as he prides himself in bringing honest food to our plates.

This really comes as no surprise to us with a culinary resume that reads like a list of San Diego’s most eclectic eateries!

The ambiance is rich in bold and sexy colors. But that doesn’t mean this is a spot only for the guys!

West Coast Tavern offers a bar area to enjoy a great happy hour,

outside patio dining for interesting people watching,

and an inside dining area where you can watch the current game projected on a large wall.

With all that being said, it’s clear that this is a great date night spot that the men in your life will enjoy too.

**I wouldn’t recommend bringing your children in the evening, but daytime hours would be great.

West Coast Tavern offers brunch from 10-3pm onĀ FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS!!

Yes, you read correct!

You will also find a Bloody Mary bar where you can build your own ketel one bloody.
