This season’s summer reading program began on June 18th … and it’s not too late to join in!

The program is fun for all ages and your child could receive a shirt for all of the reading you did together.

Here’s how it works:

For Kids and Teens:

Sign-up: Join the Summer Reading Program and receive a Reading Log at any Carlsbad City Library location.

Read: Read anything you like for as long as you like – books, magazines, newspapers! It’s summer! Have fun!

Report: Come to the Library and talk to a volunteer about what you’ve read. You can report once each day. Make sure you bring your Reading Log with you every time.

Reporting Hours at Dove & Cole:

Mon – Thu 9 a.m. to 8:45 p.m

Fri – Sat – 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Sunday -1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Reporting Hours at LLC:

Mon – Thursday – 11am to 5:45pm

Friday – 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Prizes: Earn up to two prizes per week just for reporting. Each report earns you a raffle ticket for the weekly drawing prize.

After 7 reports, receive an SRP T-shirt; after 10, receive complimentary passes to area museums and coupons to local establishments. While supplies last.

For Babies & Toddlers: Join the Summer Reading Program and receive a Log at any Carlsbad City Library location. Complete the activities in your Log to receive an SRP T-shirt.

For Adults: Read or listen to a book and fill out a review card. Turn in your review card for a weekly drawing ticket for a chance to win a $20 bookstore gift card.
